The Rockport Group is a fully integrated real estate services provider. We handle all aspects of land acquisition, development, project and construction management and property management for quality residential, commercial, industrial, and retirement home properties. While we work predominantly for our own account, we often invest with associates or provide services on a third party contract basis.

For more than 50 years, Rockport has been part of the Greater Toronto Area’s growth and development. The City of Toronto, Durham and York Regions are the areas where The Rockport Group's current and recent activities have been focused. In these areas Rockport has developed/constructed over 20,000 residential and retirement units/suites.

Rockport pioneered the condominium concept in Ontario, having registered the first Condominium Corporations, being town home communities, in the Toronto area. Rockport also develops and builds mid and high rise condominiums, retail, commercial, industrial, self storage, residential rental and golf course estate communities. Rockport has also developed a specialty in seniors housing including condominium, retirement home and Long Term Care properties.

In 2005 Rockport completed its 250 unit award winning On Bogart Pond community, in Newmarket, Ontario, Kingsway Arms, a 155 bed retirement home in Toronto and Serenade, a 112 unit town home community in Pickering.

In 2006 Rockport completed Scarlett Heights, a 206 suite independent living retirement residence on Eglinton Ave W. at Royal York Road, which it partnered with Spectrum Seniors Housing Developments. Chartwell Seniors Housing REIT managed it. 2006 also saw Rockport deliver Mariposa, a 78 unit freehold townhome development in Ajax and Parkside, its 75 unit infill rental replacement townhome community in Etobicoke. In that same year, the first residents moved into Garden Park Village, a 163 unit courtyard townhome community in Whitby.

2007 saw Rockport deliver the 117 suite City Centre Retirement Residence in Pickering, also completed in partnership with Spectrum and Chartwell. Construction also started on Berkshire Place, Rockport’s exciting Courtyard Condominium Townhome and Single family community on the north side of Steeles Avenue in the City of Vaughan.

In 2008, Rockport got underway with the 139 suite Valley Vista Retirement Residence in Vaughan, completed the servicing of Saddlewood, an infill community of freehold semi’s in Ajax, and turned the sod on its outstanding Ridgewood I Condominium community in Aurora.

As the capital markets turmoil in 2008/2009 shook our industry, Rockport focused on completing its current projects, successfully closing on the sales of all standing inventory and preparing to get underway on new projects when the market conditions normalize.

In October 2009, Rockport, and its partner Spectrum, successfully completed the sale of Scarlett Heights, the retirement residence in Toronto, to Maestro, for $58 Million. This sale was the first major transaction in the retirement space in over 18 months, and is continually referred to as a significant benchmark property and transaction.

In the spring and summer of 2010, Rockport opened its exciting Twenty One Clairtrell Condominium, 128 fabulous suites in a beautifully designed building in the upscale Bayview and Sheppard market area in Toronto. Rockport also continued its success in Aurora with the release of the Ridgewood II Condominium, an elegant 145 suite follow up to Ridgewood I.

Rockport also construction manages for third parties, having recently undertaken a new auto dealership for Toyota and a town home community in Toronto’s central core. A multi level self storage facility in Toronto and a Bank anchored shopping centre in Hamilton.
